Baby chicks and bunnies in pink dresses to be exact.....it is that time...almost.. to think about pastels and cadbury eggs...and and and easter bonnets... I love me some Easter. I LOVE Me some Spring. I could go on but I wont. Instead I will share a few little treat bags made from scallop popcorn containers. Added some images from my stash along with some fun embellishments. I also decided to make some homemade paper confetti to match the bag colors. Lots of fun to do and perfect for a few little mini treats or my favorite....candy! Hope you enjoy! I know I posted yesterday but I felt compelled to post on March 1st....MARCH 1ST! holy batman.....I can't believe Spring is literally right around the corner. It doesn't look the part here...with all the snow...but it will soon melt. I have a project to share that I have been working on in bits here and bits there.....when ever I felt inclined too. Sometimes I can't sleep and will go in and mess around in the studio a bit. Wear my mind out till I can nod off. Anyways this piece had no rules...I just picked things that made me happy...lots of glitz yummies. Definantly a french theme a little toile and a little fleur de lis....so hope to go there someday. Until then a little Parisian daydreaming never hurt anyone. Anyways....thank you for the well wishes. I feel so much better! Never get to sure of yourself when it comes to staying well....as soon as you think ohhh I never get sick...boooooooom it happens. It hit me Saturday...just lovely....lovely aches and pains & oh so more. Don't know what it was but glad it has gone. Now trying to play catch up. I was craving some color........it has been snowing here and I needed a boost. I brought out some blues, sunny yellows, and reds. Easter is not far off..and I hope we don't have snow than but fear we will. That is it for me....I am still sooo fatiqued feeling so need some shut eye. Hope you enjoy! So glad I will see my dh tonight! Yesterday was his birthday...i won't spill the beans on how old..but felt awful he was alone on his birthday. As far as crafting I have been busy on some custom orders for a few ladies but had to stop and create something for no particular reason. Another pocket....boy am I predictable! I think I need help....maybe we should all start a self help group. Many of you agreed it was a nesting thing...and that sounds good to me. Anyways...this one is in nuetrals again and full of old laces that I have tea -stained. Some fun images and burlap ribbons. These are quite large tags and are actually photo mats but I thought they made a fun layer on top of my other diecuts.
Of course I had to have a mini tag...this time with its own envelope. Many of you have asked about my bows and if I would do a tutorial. If you are interested just let me know. I could try to do a photo tutorial..step by step. I cheat when I make bows....I will let you know that. Very easy. Anyways I need to get a few things spic and span. More blue..

Soooooooooo I have more blue for you. Maybe I am blue and don't know it..but anyway I have been craving that wintery blue. This time with a bit of yellow mixed in and a little pink. Just having fun using new goodies. I found some vintage buttons the other day while in the big town and am smitten with their old crazing and crackle. You just can not replicate that lovely aged look.
And what is it with pockets, envelopes...or anything for that matter that you can tuck something in? I go crazy for such things. I am like that with shelves, cubbies, and nooks too. Hmmm is it a nesting thing? A bit of tucking and I am happy. So the first card has a vellum envelope with what else but a tag inside. A secret place to write a sentiment. The second project is another envelope for easter..just gussied up with some goodies. I LOVE that sheer pink rose cabochon button...found it at Joanns. New buttons are soooo expensive but JoAnns had buy one get one free. Last card was a lot of fun for me to make....it feels old fashion and grannyish. I have always loved that Disney saying from Jimminy Crickett. Wellllllllll hope you enjoy. I have sooo many chores to do and nary the energy. I am going to bed. There is always tomorrow. Well..no velvet per se but a lot of blue this eve! Just yummmy aquas up in here. I was inspired by the seambinding color and some new goodies from Joanns. Spring will soon be here and that makes me oh so happy. I just have two projects here to share tonight. Both large tag diecuts that I paired up with envelopes. You Make me Smile......

Love that simple sweet sentiment....and had to use it on this card the other day. So much to smile about when creating away! Keeps my mind off of other things...and keeps it on task. It is good to get lost in the moment..on a detail here or there. I found some fun diecuts the other day when I made my weekly visit to JoAnns. Gorgeous old fashion roses and scrolls...butterflies...in pinks and greens. Had to use them right away. So I did. The first two cards use them along with other goodies. My last project I finished up today. I have long wanted to create a pocket from burlap ever since I saw one in a Somersett magazine and have finely done it. I just stitched up the sides and added all kinds of laces to create a large bloom. I couldn't stop at just one pocket though and ended up making a smaller one for my parisian greeting card to fit in. I made a few tags as well to go in it...and embellished them with a few things that were sitting on my craft table. Key, more laces, ribbons, and such. That is it.... you should try one yourself...if you do .....you wont want to stop at just one. One last fun share....I was excited to find out I made the Rubber Cafe Design Team and can't wait to get creating with their fun products so I can share them here with you! Hope to share soon! Happppppppppppy Monday to you all....it is almost over really but hope you had a happy one anyway! I am back again with another sewing them pocket....these are so fun to make! This time I wanted to do a sweet cottagey theme one in bright reds and aqua blues. I made up a homemade bloom again using some vintage swiss dot fabric from my stash. I had to do another spool banner because I think they are just plain cute. It is fun to look through my stash and find all the sewing theme items and find them homes. The other card is just another one I did up with a bloom again...and a cute button card from October Afternoon. Last but not least is a card I did for Vintage Street Market for Valentines Day tomorrow! We were challenged to use only certain items that we were sent. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh today you are you....that is truer than true... sweet Dr. Suess ..what a wise man! I felt this sweet sing songy saying today...going about my work doing what makes my heart happy. I was truer than true today within myself. I can't be anymore me than when I create. I know many of you know just what I mean. I was in that zone.....it was snowing out ...and I felt bliss. I hope I am always able to feel this from time time. That reconnection. I just had to share this with you...and my goodies today! A couple of cards...and a card set pocket made from a bakery sleeve. I apparantly was feeling the pink today. Good heavens...lots of pink up in here! Lots of paper scraps, homemade flowers, buttons, and little wooden spools painted up, found in the craft section of JoAnns. I dusted off the cobwebs on one of my embossing folders again...and ran the bakers sleeve and a doily through my diecut machine. Subtle and soft....I am loving them again and the bit of detail they give a project. Other than that some October Afternoon embellies and my projects were complete.
I love anything sewing theme....my Mom is a big time sewer or was until her eyesight started to go. She use to sew and crochet many of my doll clothes. I will always love fabric and anything to do with sewing notions. They will always remind me of her. Well that is it for me this evening....hope you enjoy! Split personality.......

You ever feel that way when it comes to your style of cards....the colors you choose..so forth? One minute I feel like lovely nuetrals....the very next...pink. lol. I enjoy having a split personality when it comes to creating....the outcomes are limitless. My first card..I actually broke out my embossing folders and embossed a Paper Trey Ink envelope. LOVE the outcome and will be doing it again. I will never tire of doilies or envelopes...so if you are...I suggest you look away. rofl. I also used yummy My Craft Spot ribbon. I have been organizing my craft room...my new room that is and have my MS border cutters out and in orderly fashion and have been using them. It is a joy when you know where something is and can use it. The second card is again in a nuetral palette..using Jenni Bowlin goodies. Reminds me of Spring. The last two cards are done up in pink, the birthday card is for a sweet customer who needed something for her grandaughter's 7th birthday. I had so much fun creating something in pink..she is a girlie girl. I was apparantly still in a little girl mood and decided to use my thank heaven sentiment for fun. Hope you enjoy! Stamping fun

Happpppppppppppy Sunday evening to you.....the Super Bowl is over...and I have piles of super bowl dishes to do but we have full stomachs! I made some yummy appetizers and dips. I don't usually post on Sundays but what the hay.... I did a few cards the other evening using new PTI stamps (new to me) and wanted to share. I think everyone under the sun has the wreath for all seasons, and now I do too. I finally broke down and got it and I LOVE It. I love grapevine style wreaths. I have one that I have hanging that I have had for years and never tire of it. They are so homey to me. I wanted to so something simple with the first card so the stamped image stood out. The second card uses the thank you stamp some customers got in their orders as a thank-you. I had a lot of fun using it and adding some shabby touches like a homemade flower using some vintage hankie snippets and old pearls. The last card doesn't have any stamping...not even the sentiments but thought I would share it anyways. I love the eclectic cottagey look to it. My fave color combo is aquas and reds. The image is one from the October Afternoon miscellany diecuts...I just glittered it with fine pink glitter. I also used some Webster Pages from my stash and the last of my little aqua prima flowers. Home is Where the Heart is....

So true and has more meaning once a loved one is away...sigh. I think my husband is feeling this sweet expression of late. I have not created a whole heck of a lot except for a few design team projects. I had bought three of these hearts off a website and really enjoy making each one unique and different. This one I actually painted a "custom" color...three different colors to get the color I had in my mind. Not sure how it looks on your moniter but it is a lovely shade of aqua green in real life. I dug into my goodies and used up some old trims and made a linen blossom with a bit of vintage hankie. Added some fun archectural resin pieces....I LOVE this window. It symbolizes home to me...and of course a button here...a bow there...and so forth till it felt right to me. I added just a smidgeon of glitter to the front of it for a bit of sugary glimmer. Popping in tonight with some "feel good cards"..at least they do me at any rate. It was a lot of fun creating them. I have enjoyed using the new October Afternoon goodies. Lots of sweet images in the collection. These cards focus on friendship and a little pick me up we all need from time to time. I have been feeling down lately with my husband gone working. I think it takes some adjustment...and having it actually sunshine the last two days has helped. I wanted to thank those that have sent me sweet emails..they are much appreciated! Snowbound..

Just about dinner time here but popped in for a few to share some creations of late. After doing a few monotonous tasks...I have nothing else to do since we are snowed in(drasted housework anyways)...I simply wanted to create for fun. So that is just what I did! I had nothing particular in mind..but see that there is indeed a bit of a theme...friendship and thankfullness. So happy for the few friendships I have in life. That includes my family and most definantly my animals. They all make me smile everyday. Who doesn't need a smile in the dead of Winter? Hugs and Kisses

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr she is cold and a snowing out...and to my dismay we are suppose to get 4-5 more inches tonight. Sounds like a good time to be snug like a bug inside my house...and that is just what I am doing. It is that wonderful time of the month to introduce the new Cupcards To Go Kit with the most perfect name for Valentines and all things lovey dovey...HUGS and KISSES. I have been busy creating with this kit...each time I find some other sweet little tid bit...it is full of fun toppings and has the new BASIC GREY KISSING BOOTH. Which is absolutely gorgeous. You will have soooo much fun making cards with this kit for someone extra special...I promise! My first project was one of our challenges which was to do something special with the red heart doilies and to also spiff up the envelopes. So I took one of the envelopes and layered the heart doilies and stitched them to create a pocket and then adhered them to the envelope. I used one of the card bases and cut it in half to create two mini cards and than had fun using the toppings from the kit to embellish the front of the envelope and the cards....I tucked them inside with a few candy treats and they are now ready for someone. They other cards came together easily..I used the wrapped wire ribbons to create hearts with a bit of hot glue. You also get a bottle of pink stickled which I had fun using as accents here and there and also to covere my mini clothespins for a bit of sparkle.
Well hope I have helped to inspire you ...make sure to pay a visit to the Cupcards gallery for more valentine inspiration from the other gals. So glad the weekend is almost here....except that I have so much to do and so little time to get it done. I wish life could be like my new dvr....rewind when needed (at a fun part) and skip over the monotonious ones. I do have a few fun shares tonight. I created this calender for Purple Onion Designs using their fun vintage calender set and Stephanie Ackerman's Home Sweet Home set. I love the whimsical designs in the home sweet home set....so sweet. I sewed around the edges on it and created a pocket on the bottom half to tuck kraft tags in stamped with months for birthday reminders. I had so much fun making this. I also am excited to share that I was asked to stay on with Purple Onion and join their design team. They have such a group of talented ladies...so happy to be a part of it! Yeaaaaaaaa!

Now I did say I wanted to stamp more in the new year...and I am. The last share is just a card I made using that infamous mason jar. I turned it into a valentine one adding some love notes to it for fun. Played with the sentiment a bit by hiding the buttons word on the button card so it reads handmade one of a kind love notes on the little diecuts. Well that is is for me...I need coffee...but it is too late..dang. Off to get something anything done...ohhhh drats..laundry! hugs, cherry

Soft Winter light...

So it is Tuesday already??? I can't say I like to see time go so fast but it does bring me closer to my dh coming home on the weekends..sigh. I have several goals for this year..one being better photos...more importantly light. Soft winter light that is. I have a hard time capturing it. It might as well be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...it moves and changes so often it is hard to capture it. But alas...I trudge on. I came by to share some custom cards for a dear customer. She wanted a baby card for her 1st grandbaby ever!!! A baby girl! I have soooo much fun creating baby cards and wish I could make them everyday! I added the baby tag and added a see through acetate clock that says time on it...baby time that is! I also made a birthday card for her with more diecut clocks and a wedding card. I thought the kissing birds made from venetian lace was perfect for a couple just starting out. I of course had to tea stain them, can't have anything looking to new! The last two cards....are what else??? Valentines. I will be guesting for Kimberly at My Craft Spot. I used the yummy Vintage Valentine crickle ribbons.( I added some of my pink ink to one of the little bows to match my sentiment ink color). ....and her new stamp set Always and Forever. Such sweet sentiments....that can be used again and again. Not just for Valentines either...for weddings or anniversaries..can't wait to play more with the sentiments. I used one on a banner and paper pieced the little heart for extra detail, the other card I wanted to play around with where my sentiments would go. I added my paper that has I love you typography and than stamped the ALWAYS AND FOREVER on the dovetails for something a bit different. Kinda like the outcome...may try it again. Well that is it for me today. I am off to play some more and get dinner done...this is definantly my therapy with my dh gone. Keeps me sane. Hi yous! How is your Saturday going? Mine went rather lazily. I went no where today and just hanged with my family. I made french dips in the slow cooker and we gobbled them up , watched a movie, and now it is tuned into more football. I now only get about a day and a half with my husband because he works in Portland now. Been trying not to do so much creating on the weekends because of this. Anyways..I thought I would share a couple of cards I made awhile back just because... or rather because I had new items to play with. More of my birthday stash. Some new to me Lilybee, Prima, and October Afternoon. I rarely use collections together. I usually mish mash things but did use the matching papers for these. Vintage Street Market fun!

Hi I am poppin in late tonight to share a couple of cards made for Vintage Street Market . I had fun trying out a non traditional color scheme for Valentines using their sweet gingham paper from the

Dimestore Vogue kit and a few others from the Family Fun Kit. The embellishments are all diecuts and stamping with a bit of fussy cutting. Which I find to be relaxing..is that weried, lol? I backed the little "denim" pockets with chipboard and stitched them up just like a pocket ..and than "frayed" them up a bit like jeans would be. The other card uses some of the same papers in a different way with more of a traditional look with the pink. Love that little icecream diecut! I just added some distressed stickles to the "icecream" part for fun. Add some yummy crickle ribbons and ric rac and a bit of stamping. Well that is it for me tonight! Happppppppppppy New Year

Happppppppppppy New Year everyone! Here's to 2012 being the best it can be! I said I would come back to share a few creations done up in reds and creams. While very traditional...I still love it. The first is a card I made using some letter stamps and a Pink Persimmon stamp set. I am trying to break out the stamps more. Pretty sure I said that last year but better late than never. The second is a chipboard layered plaque I painted up and distressed. Added some wood buttons in the shape of a heart as a base on top and than added my embellies to the top. The third is a puffy heart paper mache piece....the heart is quite large. I did a few of these last year and was so sad when I ran out of the hearts. This year I hunted down a few more online. I love to alter them whether they are for Valentines or for everyday. So much fun! I made a homemade vintage lace flower and added a October metal pin to the middle. LOVE that vintage touch. Of course this one called for some glitter. I have had a few of you again ask about the glitter. As I said I just simply use adhesive spray. I use Martha Stewart glitter and JoAnns brand both, what ever I have on hand. Messy, but fun, and worth it for the outcome I think. The last project is a metal tin bought at Michaels and just gussied up with an ornate frame, papers, buttons, and whatever I fancy. The toppings are the best part, right? I made a few little Valentine tags to tuck inside the metal box for fun. Again trying to use some stamps. Well I won't bore you with my New Year's resolutions, but I will say one is to lose a few unwanted Christmas pounds. Here is to sharing and being creative in the New year! hugs, cherry

Or so I think....our tree is still up and so are the knick knacks...but by New years eve everything should find itself tucked away again till next year. I hope that you all had a wonderous and magical holiday and were able to enjoy friends and family. Ours was a quiet affair...but was lovely. With three grandparents and one child it makes for a small gathering. I am so glad though that we were able to be together another year. It is especially important to me because my dh is working each week far away up by Portland and we only see him now on the weekend. So thankful that he has a job though!

At this time of year I like to try to shoo away the Winter blues with the upcoming holiday Valentines Day. It has been nasty...wet and cold. So whipping up Valentine goodies are just what I need. I think it is my most favorite to create for. Something about the colors and the images that I adore. Some might find it a silly "made up" holiday but I think it is sweet and nostalgic to give to someone you love. Today I am sharing a few items I have been working on. All done in soft pinks and blushes. I recently bought some things directly from Maya Road...the heart bottlecaps and stitched tulle in bubblegum you see. Love their stuff! I recently had a birthday and decided to spoil myself a bit. I will be back with some bright creations as well soon. Well hope you enjoy and are keeping warm! Hugs , cherry

Friday evening..

Hope you are all home...warm and snug! We are....hanging out the three of us...er....the six of use including the two cats and lab watching tv. Couch potatoes are a wonderful thing on a cold Winter night. I popped in to share a few more things made for Purple Onion Designs. I am head over heels in love with the Holiday Postmark set. Sooo fun to use to add a detail here and there. I also used the vintage perpetual calender a bit and can't wait to use more of it on another project. Also used were the handwritten holiday set, and vintage snowflakes set and the deluxe labels. As per norm for me I had to sprinkle some glitter here and there. Been having fun making holiday tags. So how are you all doing with your Christmas crafts? Getting them done? Lots to do huh? I say get the fun stuff done and let the rest slide....the holidays are meant to be enjoyed. Happy Holidays.....poppin in to share a couple of cards I designed for Purple Onion Designs . I used their Holiday Postmark set, Happy Holidays Noteblock, Handwritten Holiday, and the Deluxe Label set. So many fun stamps to use....I had a ball making these cards. I fussy cut a few Santa images from the Authentique Christmas line..love the silhouette look of them. Of course I had to top these off with some glitter. A little birdie told me also that Purple Onion Designs is having a holiday sale...25 percent off everything in the store....so go check it out! Can't believe how

close Christmas is...but it sure is fun getting ready for it! The glitters, the bows, all that shimmers and glimmers.....I never tire of it. I know I said I wouldn't be back till my Vintage Street Market post but ummm had to share some new creations. More of my fave grey....yes it is my new fave...this time paired with red....instead of pink. Simply heaven. Another fun color duo of reds and creams..which I never tire of. All kinds of toppings....tea stained ribbons, glittery goodies, paper diecuts...all looking sweeter with a soft topping of glitter. Which by the way I have had some of you ask how I do the glitter. I use a good spray adhesive, mine is 3m from Walmart. I lightly spray my card or item and than top it off with a sprinkle of glitter from the container. Just gives it a nice snowy effect. It seems to dry quite well...might remain a bit tacky but worth the extra effort I think. When I want to do small detail effects I use Tim Holtz distress glitters that come in the small tubes. My last project you see is close to my heart.....I collect those old vintage frames through the year and than spray them up with paint. Love to do shadowbox altered art with them. I did quite a few of them a few years back and than like so many of us do went on to other things. So glad I took the time to try it again. I love how this one came out. I fnally broke into my harlequin ribbon I have been hoarding. Again I had to sprinkle it all with glitter...good gried will I tire of it? I don't know ...Valentines is around the corner rofl. Color Combos

Happy Monday! It was beautiful today.....blue sky...just what I needed..especially on a Monday. NO ice thank Goodness. I hate driving in the snow and ice...and if I don't have to I wont. I thought I would drop by to share a few things...I have been playing around with non traditional color schemes for Christmas. I have done quite a few things this year adding black...it really pops against my favorite color red and adds a touch of sophistication...and I am just diggin it. I am sure it will pop up again before the season is over. The other one I tried was pink (which I know many of you adore) and grey. I am generally not a big grey person ...but again I am really diggin the combination of it with pink. It was a natural for these Crafty Secret images I used. I heard they are going all digital...say it ain't so! Boo! Anyways...hope you enjoy! I will be back to share a Vintage Street Market project with you all in a few days! Night night all, cherry

That is what I am...OHHH Thanksgiving...and the leftovers....and the leftovers...and did I mention the leftovers? Good ole stuffing...and fruit salad...and the jeans just get tighter and tighter. I just wanted to pop in with a Happy thanksgiving and many blessings to you all! I thought I would share this "memory keeper" album I have been working on. I started with Tattered Angels chipboard that I inked and sanded...and than started adding bits and bobs too. Papers from Graphic 45 and Canvas Corps...and others I forget. I added some of my polka dot recipe cards that I stitched up so they would be perfect for tucking in notes and memories of this Christmas to come or from years gone by. Several kraft envelopes from Maya Road embellished with tinsels, poinsettias and more. I had a lot of fun embellishing this....and know there will be more of these in my future. It's snowing....and the fire is glowing...and I am making cards....cards, cards, and more cards. I can't help myself. It is really quite sad....being that I virtually have no family to share these cards with....rofl. We have a very small family. O well it is allll good and it keeps me out of trouble and sane. Sanity is good. This weather kinda gets to me....I love sunshine..so I try to create it indoors with my paper and embellies. So please beware that I will be sharing quite a bit with you. You really gotta like cards to visit this joint. I also wanted to share that I am now officially on the Vintage Street Market team. I couldn't me more pleased! I love their goodies...and the other ladies are full of talent..so I am kinda giddy to be apart of it. I crave softness every now and again....a bit of girly girl fou fou. Pastels...pinks, blues, yellows....especially as the Winter skies turn grey. Are you with me??? Now that the clocks have turned back....our days grow darker faster and faster. Bringing a bit of lightness to my creations is just what I need. A few images from Glitz designs and the internet also inspired me to make these. Funny how certain images speak to you....especially at certain times. Ohhhh yes they are....it is snowing here.....the air is crisp and oh soooo nippy. Try 8 degrees nippy this morning. yep. So I am sooo getting in the mood for the holidays. I popped in yet again to share some fun creations.....things that make me smile because I just dearly loved making them. I started my paper crafting with banners....I don't do as many as I use to..they take some time...but I forgot how much I enjoy the process and the outcome. I love the colors I used in this one....soft, subtle, and vintagey. I topped it off with many layers...and lots of glitter. I also am sharing a few cards made from Melissa frances tags and envelopes. Ohhh what fun these are to make. The tags are large enough to make cute cards from them...and there is just someting about tucking it inside the pocket. Makes me happy! It is a hoot to add toppings to these....mini wreaths or candy canes...whatever suits you. Many of the ones I find are from good ole Micheals. Last but not least an altered plaque ...I think you know I love to make these. I got some red vintage style tinsel through etsy and had to use it on this. Again more toppings ....and a handmade rosette folded accordian style. Rows of vintage buttons with twine...which I have used over and over again and never tire of. It is November and that means.........Cup Cards to Go is ready to share another scrumptious kit with us all! This is our holiday kit and it has the sweet name SugarPlum....are they dancing in your heads yet? I didn't have as much time with this kit since I was "out of dodge" so to speak..but I had some serious fun playing the last day or two. Full of whimsy ....and holiday cheer. You will also get the little tube you see decorated. We were challenged to decorate it up. It is perfect for some little goodies.....candy or a small trinket. I chose to shabby mine up and also made a matching little card with it. You will have a lot of fun...go check out the other girl's cards for inspiration...I can't wait to take a peek myself. Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllo to you...anyone out there? I am back from my vacation. It was an anniversary trip to Oahu...just me and dh. We had a wonderful time. Hawaii is truly a paradise...but I have to admit my home feels more like paradise to me at the moment. It feels soo good to come home after being gone..I truly appreciate these four walls. Amongst catching up on laundry and other tedious tasks I have been able to create some fun new goodies. A few cottagey creations....a recipe card with of course cherries...a bit of fabric scraps and the other my very last Jenni Bowlin bird...in red of course. I have fun layering things up till it looks just right (to me). I purposely unwound the spool type piece and let it curl around the card a bit for texture. Whimsical...and Red just makes me happy! I enjoyed taking a break from holiday cards for a bit but found myself drawn back to them...will show those in the next few days. Salutations to you all! I am sorry I have not been posting....I have still been tired from our trip. It took a lot out of me, lol. I also have several project assignments coming up and have been creating in my craft room. I wanted to share my excitement over my guest gig over at Vintage Street Market. I adore their sweet nostagic products and kits! I had soooo much fun using several of their kits including Dimestore Vogue, Party Games, and family fun. Here are the creations I made....I seriously could have made more but ran out of time. I had a ball! LOVE the paper dolls and the little wardrobes that come with them. Took me straight back to when I was a little girl....that is when my paper adoration started. Sighhhhhhhhhh...just so sweet! Anyways...if you want to read up on my blog post over there go here. Barely..................I say barely because I am exhausteeeeeeeeeeeeed. I have a Disneyland hangover I think. Son and I had a wonderful time though. I feel so blessed to be able to spend silly and fun times like this with him still. There will come a day when it will become fewer and farther between. We rode everything..including the little kiddie rides (which I love) and all the classics like the Matterhorn and Pirates. We rode Splash mtn....again...and again...and again...as you can see up above. We ate Mickey shaped beignets and frozen lemonades...as often as we liked. Happy to report no tummy aches either. I thought I would share some pics from the first and second days on our trip...Our first day was a magic morning and as you can see we are tired but ready to hit the parks. The last pic is just on of the many window displays on main street....they do Halloween vintage style to perfection. I just can't believe my baby is starting 8th grade on Tuesday....how how how can it be? He is all ready with his new Quicksilver garb...and nikes. New haircut. Don't know what I will do with out my side kck. He is turning into quite a good chap. Very proud of him. Yes I am sharing Halloween goodies....but still enjoying sunshine. It is still fun to play with the vintagey fun Haloween goodies...bring out the glitter, crepe papers, and go crazy. Hi...it's me again! Poppin in on a summer saturday night to share a few goodies. The first up is my two cats....in the bathroom..hard at work. I try and try to get them to do their fair share around here. Maybe clean the sinks or something..but it is a no go. I caught them here lounging in the sun like two big African lions. They are about good for nuttin but lookin cute. ahhhhh well what ya gonna do?
I got so happy yesterday because I found these older JB bingo cards NEVER used...and had fun playin with one of them..along with a piece of old ledger paper I had. The baby card was a custom card for someone who wanted something lux with no pink. Hope they likey! I like the warm lineny colors of it with the lace. The image itself is a Crafty Secrets one as is the next card with the birdies, from their love mail scraps. I got the new to me picket fence die cut from Papertreyink and had fun with it. The last piece is also Crafty secrets....I had so much fun dressin up the little pinafore. Almost like when I was a little girl with my dolly. Well that is it for me. We had a fun full day of hitten Waldo Lake..one of the cleanest and clearest lakes in the world...beautiful...than it was on for old fashion ice cream sodas...and than Mexican food. Kinda backwards with the dinner and dessert...but o well....life is too short. Hope all is well with you, cherry

I am back..

Hellllllllllllllo! We are back from our little trip. Travels were made to Boise (archives and Cracker Barrel, Yum!), Wallowa Lake and the tram, and my fave Leavenworth Washington. It is a quaint Bavarian village...complete with some beautiful mountains NOT unlike the alps. We stayed in the sweetest lodge....the flowers were beautiful in front of all the buildings....overflowing. We took in the shops and ate Bavarian cream puffs and bratwurst. Soo happy to be home now though.....I dug into my new goodies from Archives and created away. Here are a few of my creations. Can't wait to create more. Getting away made me miss my card making. I will be popping in here over the next week and a half...and than my son and I will make our annual pilcrimage to main street to see Mickey Mouse! Look forward to sharing more with you....I will be guesting for one of my fave companies in September so stay tuned. hugs, cherry

Plaque, signs, if they are alterable I love them. Sooo fun to play with. I have three here for you today....I broke down and finally used this gorgeous metal tin sign of a butterfly from GCD Studios. Added some prima flowers and buttons and some handmade stick pins. love the colors. The next one is more shabby, I didn't want to part with this vintage cameo brooch but the rose called for it. I love to gather lace and let it look a bit frumpled ...adds such texture. The last one is a Halloween plaque....I am def. thinking of the fun goodies sitting in my drawer ...a few have been taken out waiting to be used. It isn't that far away. I used crackle on the pocket watch from Helmar's. Awww well that is it for me. Enjoy the sunshine! cherry

Sooo I will again be awol. I wanted to pop in (I am always popping in) and share a project I did for Helmar . I think you can figure out which one it is......the one with the abundance of crackling. Teeeee heeee I love it. Is there such a thing as too much crackling??? Not in my book. I also used the ever sooo lovely ( I need more of it ) Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden . The other two little cards are ones I made today...they just came to me and I was in the "zone". Had fun pulling from my paper bin..adding this and that....and letting the process unfold. Howdy! It is Sunday....and over cast. Not our typical July weather...but what is anymore? I created a few things and wanted to share. Yesterday and today I was in a creative mode...in my own little zen world. Humming along to some tunes and creating away. I love when creating allows such freedom and your cares drift away. As many of you I have become smitten with digital images...several are used on these projects. Some of the papers and the birdy image is from Crafty Secrets. Ahhh yes dreaming today....dreaming up a whimsical birdy with his birdcage. Thank goodness he got to fly the coop! This little project I made using some of my all time favorite products from Helmars. I really wanted this project to have depth and lots of details. I took two Maya road chipboard birdcages and layered them. I painted the top one with cream paint and than went to work using my beloved crackle medium from Helmar. Once it dried I rubbed everything down with brown shoe polish to get that antique look. I also crackled my large birdie. I also used Helmar's Zap Dots between the birdcage layers to give a shadow box effect. I teastained just about every thing as well...the flower, vintage laces etc. I love the subtle aging it gives. I like to use both a combination of coffee and black tea. It gives a lovely aroma to things as well! I had this one rhinestone belt buckle and had been hoarding it and finally decided today was the day to use it. I went to work adding the fun goodies...flowers, metal key, beads, crown for Mr. birdy...and lace! I had so much fun creating this. Hope you enjoy! Hugs, cherry

summer is going by at warp speed.....we have some plans to get away soon. I have been holding the fort down along with my son while my husband is away working, It has been hard to be away from him but feel so blessed he has a job right now. I popped in this eve to share a few cards I have made lately. We have spent more time outside...we have discovered croquet and have had a ball playing it. I use to play it as a child and am so glad my son discovered our old set. Well tonight just some vintagey goodies...the first and second card use images from crafty secrets...the first is from their new vintage images cd. Lots of fun. Home sweet home...

I love being home during the summer...hearing the frogs croakin...and the sprinklers goin. It was 92 today and I LOVED it. After the winter and nonexistent spring...I welcome the warmth and sunshine. I have not popped in for a few days...been busy with this and that. My dh had to leave for a 2-3 week stint working several hours away and I miss him dearly. Work has been slow coming for us and I am glad for the blessing of it but sorely miss seeing him puttering around on the lawn and such. Glad to have my son and our sidekick lab Riley , and our two cats. I thought I would pop in with this little primitive house I altered awhile back. I painted it white first and than used my beloved Helmar crackle. I also used it on the little home and heart sign...it works really well on plain ole papers. I than used some new papers that I got from girls paperie...that have the vintagey look I love and covered the little wooden house and than went to work embellishing it. That is the fun part huh? Using bits and bobs to make something unique and yours. I adore the combination of aquas and pinks...fresh and fun. Hope you enjoy and sooo hpe you are all able to enjoy summer! hugs, cherry

Two of my favorite words when it comes to card making.....perfectly imperfect. layers of old lace, stitching, teastaining on EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN. Ohhhh the little things that make me happy. Today I was in a shabby mood, can you tell? I found some envelopes yesterday that I fell in love with and quickly gave them a overhaul with some tea....I also found that big garagtuan rose and had to use it today. I paired it with some lace that I found last week...and thought they were made for each other. Hope you enjoy my scruffy and tattered cards today. Ok maybe I went overboard creating for the 4th...but I LOVE it! How can you not feel patriotic when you see these colors? You can totally embrace the vintage look with the faded reds, creams, and dusty blues. Sooo today I have a card..I actually ripped and sanded around the edges of the image to really give it an authentic look..like it has been around for awhile. Than I made a little pendant...I have been hoarding these little 4th of july wood words and decided to finally break them out. Than another one of my bingo cards I love to make...and finally lol...a banner. I have not made one of these in awhile. Ahhhhh sunshine...warmth, the smell of fresh cut grass, evenings spent listening to the frogs a croakin....ohhh I LOVE YOU SUMMER TIME! I decided today to use some color....reds, greens..like the colors of freshly picked veggies & fruits.b the way...the strawberries I have gotten lately are wonderful! YUMMMM. The first two cards use images from Crafty Secrets Homemade journal notes and Garden Scraps...the perfect images to start of Summer! I took a mason jar lid and decided to crackle AGAIN using Helmar's Crackle medium. Love the bright happy colors! The last two use the new Cosmo Cricket collection....love those sweet little girls! They make me smile! Well hope you enjoy..and I also hope you are able to enjoy some much needed Summer and sun. I know we all need it! hugs, cherry

First official Helmar post!!!!!

Hello there..... I said I would come back and I did! I wanted to share a project I did for Helmar using their 2 step crackle medium and some lovely Pink Paislee Buttterfly Garden collection that Pink Paislee sent to the design team . I am in love with Helmar's crackle finish....I tried to crackle my dh but he wouldn't stand still. I sincerely feel like crackling just about everything. Sooo todays crackle project (there will be more) I decided to start with a chipboard plaque ...I didn't even paint it first..nope. I put the first step on and waited around 10-15 minutes and than put the second coat on pretty thick. I did leave this over night like it said too but have since than tried it on other items and within about 30 minutes they were done. You can start seeing the cracks appear within minutes and it is fun to watch... a little like magic. I have tried other crackle finishes and have never had such good results. After the plaque had dried I rubbed brown shoe polish over it and to settle in the cracks and a bit of dry brushing of cream Delta paint to soften it. I wanted a very antiquey worn finish...what I like to call perfectly imperfect. I couldn't stop there so I also crackled my dress form, the little wooden finials, and the wood spool. For my adhesives I tried the Helmar 450 quick dry and some zap dots for demension on the dressform. This was the first time using the Helmar 450 and I love it...it really dried super fast..which is good because I am a bit impatient! Hope you enjoyed my first post for Helmar! I have been busy busy with end of the school year activities. We have finally had a bit of sunshine and I have been outside....sooo wonderful and warm...I dearly need it. I do have a little something to share. I have been working on Helmar projects and been playing around with their Crackle finish . I tried it here on this plaque in a small area on the metal frame and they keyhole.....I LOVE the outcome. This is some awesome stuff! I will have more to share with it very soon. I can't stop crackling things. I found that vintage rhinestone brooch piece and the vintage cabochen rose out in my travels this week and love them. Love to use old pieces like this as the center of flowers and such. They tell a history you just can't find with something new and shiny. Just like the buttons above with their crackle imperfect state....that I find delectible. Well hope you enjoy....I think things will slow down a bit for awhile before we start planning our trips etc. Can't wait to share something I am making for Helmar. Come back and visit! cherry

Daydreaming more like...You ever have those days where you just can't get going for nothing? It is like you are in slow mo......You look at the clock and several hours have passed and you have gotten very little done? It was one of those days for me. Some people seem to think cards are faster than layouts. Many design teams require you make two cards to every one layout. I take offense to that....most of my cards take me a good hour if not more. Today though...rofl....much more. It is just the way it was. Today I have more images of Summery birds, bees, and butterflies. Some done in a more vintagey shabby design and the others brighter and what I consider more cottagey. Fell in love with these layered birdies at JoAnns yesterday....they almost have a water color effect to them. The butterflies and bees have sweet copper antennas. Just adorable. Yipeeeeeeeeeeee! It is June 1st which means....the new Cupcards to Go kit is in the house! The kit is called Virginia....and it if full of sweet papers and embellies. Hope you had a good one....just a short and sweet entry ...couple cards I made. I am gaga for butterflies. I can't get enough of them. All shapes and sizes. Of course we all love dress forms....I can't afford the real thing, so this is as close as it gets. We were able to break out the fire pit today and roasted hot dogs and marshmellows. It doesn't feel like Summer yet..but maybe if we act like it is the season will follow suit. Well blessings to you all.....have a wonderful end to your long weekend. hugs, cherry

Hello.....I bet you are all having fun this Memorial day weekend.....eating hot dogs maybe...hanging with family....kicking off the Summer. It has been snowing here..can you believe it? Sunday eve....

Sunday eve and the sun has just set...I love the extra time in the day. I made a few cards today using Crafty Secrets new digital cd Creating with Vintage Patterns which will be out at the end of May. The soft aqua damask, vintage rose wallpaper style pattern, and the soft pink flourish background papers are all from the cd. I am in love with these patterns...and have found a new love for digital images in general. So fun, versatile, and quick to use! I really just wanted to make a few cards that were full of heart...expressions that make you smile. It lifts my spirits and eases my mind to let this craft let me wander a bit. I hope you enjoy! I love that sentiment...and even more perfect with these sweet gardening images.....perfect for today! Why? Because of the delectible sunshine....it came out...and it stayed and stayed. sigh.......... a few of our flowers are peeking out amongst the earth and our mama bird is in a tailspin feeding her little ones. I LOVE this time of year. I used cottage colors today...bright and happy..full of life. A few gardening cards using new to me sentiments from Papertrey..and a butterfly card...I can't get enough of the butterflies. They remind me of my grandmother. She love them and so do I. Lastly another chipboard house. Love embellishing them. Not unlike playing house for fun. None of the chores just the fun hanging the curtains part. Well my loves... I am going to go. Tomorrow I get to go to the big town for groceries and maybe a few fun scrapbooking items. I have been home all week. Looking forward to it! Hugs, cherry

Well jeessse...I must be living under a rock..I didn't know blogger was acting up. Kinda glad I didn't because I am sure I would have been pulling my hair right along with you. Thanks for the letting this broad know! I played around with my stamps today....just some sweet simple designs. Some were old and some were new stamp sets...so glad I let my fears go and just had fun. I need to play with them more. so versatile. I used color combos of greens and yellows..and than tried raspberries with greens....and than blue and red. So many cmbos and so little time. The last two I just had throw in....a shabby sweet card using Crafty Secrets images and a fun butterfly card. I LOVE the butterfly card...and those patchwork patterns on them! It is a ghost town around here? Is it blogger? I came by to share just a few cards this evening. I decided to use this image of a memorial day type image from Crafty secrets using nontraditional patriotic colors...I like the soft colors..aquas and peachy pinks...love the children in the image. The other two I really like how they turned out...using tattered angel chipboard letters..a little different for me. I wont keep you any longer...if anybody comes by that is. Puzzled? hugs, cherry

                                          glue, tape runners, foam dots....I have a MAJOR love for adhesive..of all sorts. I am not kidding when I say this.. we all know what a little foam demension can do for a project..it takes it literally to new heights. You know what I am sayin? Soooo I was thrilled when I found out that I made the Helmar Design Team.   I am so excited to share my first projects with you soon! Their products rock! So please stay tuned!
                                        I am here tonight to share quite a few cards with you....soft and breezy....butterflies and dressforms...more ribbon flowers...just dreaming of silly and whimsy....and things that may not quite make sense..other than to me! That is ok...creating can be very personal. I think that I need to get more personal with my art...push myself more but always create with heart.   Well that is it for me....I get to go out of town tomorrow to the big city of Eugene..so excited! I get to go to Ben franklin crafts and my raspberry cream from Orange Julias...I am giddy giddy! Feel good...

............. Just some feel good cards tonight my sweet peas! Hopefully they bring a smile or two to you. I was lost today and yesterday..yep..no mojo...than I got some wrinkle ribbons in the mail today from Miss. Kim and my outlook changed! The colors inspired me...names like fireflies, sweet pea, and misty meadow....sigh..be still my romantic heart. I also have found a fun and addicting thing to do..while watching Bethanny last night. Making roses from old laces....it was so relaxing hand sewing...I forgot all about it! I have used hot glue to roll a flower before but the thread just makes it oh so more rufflley (is that a word). Now if I could only crochet..like my Mama! I felt like an old fashion lady sitting there weaving my needle in and out rofl. Ahhh the little things. I know you know what I mean.. Taking things back to the basics sometimes makes things so enjoyable. Well my ladies...I need to go clean up a bit...that craft room is in a wicked state! hugs, cherry

Day Dreamer..

Today is the day! CupCards To Go has their new kit ready for May and it is adorable! Bright Spring colors...so refreshing and oh so cottage cute! Here is my take on the kit. I loved it because it was full of Little Yellow Bicycles new line of papers Elizabeth Park. I am smitten with them. I loved the stick pins and decided to make them center stage on two of my cards...one I added a sentiment too on the inside with a "pun on words"...using stick...referring to the stick pins. If you come up with your own sentiment and don't have it in a stamp...just use your word pad and print it out. Easy peasy.
So make sure you hop on over to the other designers blogs with their fun creations! Get your inspiration on! The kits go on sale today at 6:00 pm pacific. Don't dilly dally now! Happy Sunday! Cherry

Stamped Mason jar card

Hello there...I am here today to share a tutorial with you..a sweet cottagey stamped mason jar card perfect for a loved one or special some one. Start off by making your card (mine is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2) . Get stamps all together and start stamping them (I used a soft pink dye ink)..I chose to stamp mine on neutral ledger type papers for a soft look. Than fussy cut them out and set aside as you cover your cardstock in your chosen papers. I used some scrap pieces that worked well together. Than I was ready to " age my papers" by using my stand by distress inks (they are never far from me). I love the instant age and worn appearance they give my cards. I am not shy when it comes to aging..more is better in my opinion. I than applied some vintage crochet lace with hot glue. Now the fun begans as you construct your mason jar! If you like use foam adhesive for a 3-d effect or use some good acid free glue. Once you are done with that...have fun embellishing your cottage mason jar...I chose a little square diecut and buttons. You could also use decorative scissors for a ric rac edge. Adhere your embellies with hot glue. Add the twine and stamps at the top of the jar. The last step is to add your ribbons of choice. I chose wrinkle ribbons for a soft look. Glue them on and if you like add some trinket pins. I added stacked buttons to my pins for a bit of whimsy. Once that is done....you are finished! Your card is ready to give to that special someone! You just gotta laugh...

I wake up and it is a literal blizzard outside....than afternoon rolls around and the sky is clear and blue. Sometimes you just gotta laugh. I suppose it will decide to be Spring sometime. Maybe May...which is Sunday. Haaahaaa! A few cards today...mostly pinks..and a bit of aqua. I found some more lovely crochet pieces...and just adore using them in my art. Love the softness they add to a card. One worked perfectly with my crochet cherries....yes another cherry. The sweet bird image is from Crafty Secrets. Their images are the best. Other than that another shabby rose card and Melissa frances 5th Avenue card...which I am almost all out of. Should have gotten two of everything. So that is it for me. Hope you enjoy my shares. OHHH I have so enjoyed today! There was sunshine..we got a new tree and my dh planted it...I had time to create today...and my dh made dinner! It's the little things that make me oh so happy. How about you? Was your Wednesday good? I hope so! I wanted to express my thanks to those that wished me well...my aches come and go. It is one of the pit falls of dealing with a messed up thyroid. I seem to need more rest than most and so I allowed myself that. You have to listen to your body..right?
So a little this and that tonight...a few cards...two in soft shades of sky. I wish I could bottle that color! The other two are brighter but still vintagey...just love red ginghams...remind me of aprons and grandmas...and curtains blowing in the wind. I found two antique snap buttons had to use them tonight...love that worn silver look. Worn from wear and the touch of hands through the years. Leave it to me to romantize buttons...silly me! Was your Easter wonderful? I hope so! Ours was nice..it was also my Dad's birthday so we spent the day with my parents and mixed traditional Easter yummies with my honey chicken enchiladas...it was a small smorgasbord. It was so nice spending time with my parents. My Dad is now 72...which I can't believe. They had me a little later in life..which is quite normal now, but wasn't in the 70's. We have a very small family but I cherish them so much!

Well I came by of course to share a few projects...cards...with a light and airy look...whimsical. More of the Pink Paislee diecuts. My soul craves these colors right now...we have had storms and snow until I just want to scream. It is just strange. I guess I have a bit of a theme with out even realizing it...wings. Each card either has a bird image, nest, butterfly, or fairy. Hmmmm maybe I want to soar away to a warm sunny climate. Sun please come and stay and play. I also made another vintage plaque...I found an old vintage Italian scroll frame and painted it white....it was perfect to frame this velvet prima rose I adore. I love to pair the old and new together. You would never know which is old and which is new.....a perfect marriage. Well that is it for me this eve. I am gonna go take a hot shower and go to bed!
