Mom's Garden

Hello to you!  I have a soft sweet little Mother's day card to share today.  I used the new stamp set Tree Silhouette .   If you know me at all...you know I love wreaths.  I love the country appeal..and the warmth they add to something.  I decided to turn the tree into a free form wreath.  I simply turned it every time I stamped it creating a free form circle of sorts.  I than took the little mini leaf and stamped it here and there for dimension.  I of course had to embellish my country wreath with some jellie dots.  They are always the perfect little accent.  My sentiment comes from the Friends   sentiment set..which I thought would fit this card well.  I used the mini leaf again stamping it around the sentiment to accent it.  I added some grungy distressed seam binding and was done.  I love the pink and green together.  Very feminine I think.  I so hope you enjoy! Happy Wednesday!  Hugs, cherry

Premium Quality...

Hi there!  So excited to share this vintage crochet pocket I created for Riddersholm Designs today.  I started with a vintage crochet doily square and created a quilt batting liner for the inside.  I stitched them together and than went to work embellishing the front.  I used old laces, rolled burlap rose, ribbons, and a fun little tag with a fussy cut image from Fall Flea market and some background stamps using Doilies and lace.   Each tag uses background papers from Fall Flea Market, Huntington Gardens.   I created my focal points using some of the beautiful images from these collections as well.  I also used one of the Lovely flowers (I took the stamens out)that I tucked a cabochon on top of with a jewelry setting.  So many fun things you can do with the flowers.  I have another idea I will be sharing soon using them.  Hope you enjoyed my creation!  I love the  softness you get from doilies etc for a pocket instead of using a file folder.   Will have to create another!  Thanks for visiting!  hugs, cherry

Lifes Peachy Keen!

Hellllllllo peeps!   Today I get to share a little creation made for Really Reasonable Ribbon and Peachy Keen Stamps .  This week we are doing a cross promotion and it has been so much fun.  I chose to work with A Cherry On Top and pendant banner .  Both so very sweet and I know I will use them again and again.   I stamped the pendants and than fussy cut them out.  I than stamped my cherries and fussy cut them out.  I glittered them for fun and adhered handmade tissue garland.  I added rose petal seam binding to the ends of the banner.  Other than that a few pom pom accents and my fun festive card was complete.  Hope you enjoy!  Thanks for letting me share!  Cherry

Vintage Street Market

Hello there!  How are you?  Cherry here to share a sweet thank-you pocket for someone special.  I used goodies from http://store.vintagestreetmarket.com/products/dimestore-vogue Dimestore Vogue for my main images and for my background papers I chose http://store.vintagestreetmarket.com/search?page=2&q=crate+paper a piece from Little Boy Blue and some gorgeous old dictionary page  and crepe paper from http://store.vintagestreetmarket.com/collections/vintage-kits/products/ephemera-assortment the Ephemera kit.  Love how all the vintage images etc work so well with my antique jewelry and vintage laces.   They blend perfectly.  I also used a http://store.vintagestreetmarket.com/products/attic-treasures-mini-flashcards Melissa frances flashcard as my sentiment.  I love how this turned out...hope you do too!  Thanks for letting me share!  hugs, cherry

Mom LOVE you gift set...

Mid-week greeting to you!  Today is my day over at the Rubber Cafe blog .    I got to play a bit with the extra large Daisy stamp  and have fell in love with it.   Such a sweet stamp. I decided to create a Mother's Day card and matching gift bag using it.  It reminds me of my Mom..her favorite flower is the daisy.  With that in mind... I first stamped it onto a piece of paper and fussy cut it out to use as my base daisy.  I than stamped it again twice on two different pattern papers and cut them up and layered them on top of the base daisy.  I added a bit of vintage lace and felt to the top of that to soften it a bit.  I embossed my card base and left it white to allow my daisy to pop and added a bit of paper to the bottom half.   For my sentiment I used some scrapbooking canvas letters.  For the gift bag I used the same steps...but didn't have room for the full daisy so I cut it in half. I like the effect and plan to use it on a card.  I  added a doily to soften it and ribbons...and made little sentiment banners using the Pictures framed  set.    Now it is ready to fill with Mom's favorite candy!  I had so much fun making this and hope you enjoy it!  hugs, cherry

You always make my heart smile....

Salutations to you!  Cherry here for Riddersholm Designs today!  I have a sweet little vintage card for you.  I have been wanting to create a mosaic heart for awhile now.  I have seen so many pretty creations using them.  I wanted a tattered old fashion look and knew my Riddersholm papers would be perfect.   I started with several of the beautiful papers mixing collections.  I used Huntington Garden and A Christmas Story for my background papers.  I die cut a heart from the vintage Junk paper from the  Fall Flea Market  line .  I used the diecut for my pattern and where I wanted to place my buttons.  I played around with them and layered them.  Once I knew where I wanted them I used hot glue to adhere them.  I added some corrugated cardboard I shabbied up to the bottom portion of the card.  From there I added my sentiments and seam bindings.  I had to tuck a sweet Paper rose into the middle of the ribbon and I was done!  Hope you enjoy...and maybe try or own heart out?   Great way to use up some of those buttons we all like to stash!   hugs, cherry

friday fun

It is Friday...are you glad?  It is also the 15th which means RRR is having another fun challenge...this time flowers with ribbon.  I decided to join in.  I can never resist a bloom.  I thought I would do a quick little tutorial for you showing my flower layers and how I went about decking my bag out.  The middle layer of the flower is a technique I have posted before where you simply roll and twist the flower.  You can make them small or humongous if you like.  I used the red polka dot double ruffle ribbon which manipulated really well.   Very easy to use and made a nice full bloom.  I layered it with some vintage swiss dot fabric I diecut flowers from.
Once I had my bloom ready the fun part of gussying up my bag began.  I used some cottagey floral papers and washi tape.  I had a bit of crepe paper fringe left and used it.  From there I adhered my bloom using hot glue and than went about stamping my mason jar tag.  I had fun revisiting this stamp set from Pti.  It is one of my favorites.  I also used an older mini stamp set from Maya road.   Once I had it adhered I topped it off with some red seam binding and cherry bakers twine .   I love the color combo....my favorite.  My bedroom has a lot of this and I never tire of it.  Well I am off to spend time with my son.   I get him to myself today and I think we will go do something simple but ...maybe ice cream and book hunting?  Hope you enjoy!  Happy weekend!  Cherry

RRR blog hop

Today is full of fun...we are blog hopping with RRR to showcase the monthly ribbon club assortment Sweet Pickle  & doing a bit of early cross promotion with Peachy Keen stamps .  You should have found your way here from Ms. Gloria's   scrumptious blog.   If you lose your way you can always start at the RRR blog link up above.   I chose to work with a cherry on top stamp set for this card.  It worked perfectly with my PTI cupcake diecut and the sweet pink ribbons in the monthly ribbon club assortment.  I shabbied my cupcake up by glittering "the heck" out of it!  I added the cute cupcake topping and candle from the stamp set and fussy cut them out.  Added a bit of vintage crepe paper fringe, the lace from the kit, and the cute homemade sentiment banners and I was done!  What do you think?  Kinda cute!  Your next stop on the hop is Ms. Heather's fantabulous blog. Have fun!  hugs, cherry

Happy B DAY!

Sunshine weather.....straight ahead!  We have only a small baby patch of ice left on our back patio.  It will be sorely missed by our black lab Riley (he loves to roll in it after playing fetch).  I have a card today for RRR that reminds me of sunshine...gingham, bees, and just plain cheerful.  I used the 3/8 red gingham ....fell in love with it.  Perfect red.  I decided to have fun and dressed up my envelope as well.  I am often guilty of leaving it plain and many of my cards are just plain to thick for an envelope.   It is so much fun though and makes it more special.  It is a great way to use those little snippets of ribbon you don't want to throw away too.  I used just a "tail" for my envelope and think it looks cute.  I think I will be doing this more often!  Hope you enjoy and Happy spring!  hugs, cherry
