sucker pocket tutorial

HI there!  January is whizzing by ...which means Valentine's is on its heels.  I thought I would share
a little tutorial on making some cutesy lollipop pockets.  First off grab your favorite papers, embellishments, and your Really Reasonable Ribbons and lets get going!

1) To start cut your papers 5 x 12 and score on the 6 inch line to fold up to create your pocket.
2) Use a corner rounder and round off your corner edges.  Than stitch up your sides.
3) Start adding your goodies.. like labels and borders
4) add your glitter chipboard hearts or whatever main image you would like to use and than wrap your ribbons around and tie a big yummy bow .  I of course, like usual, added another layer to my bows using hot glue.
5)  Next just keep adding your embellishments.  I added a few stickers and hearts to the top for interest and added buttons to the top of my large hearts.
6) Almost done...next just add a few little cute embellishments to your suckers.  I added sweet cupcake sentiments, to and from tags, and cotton candy twine .  All you have left to do is nestle your suckers inside!  Ready to go!

This would be perfect for the kids this Valentines or maybe as a treat for a favorite teacher!  Hope you enjoy!  Hugs, cherry

Valentine Bingo card...

Are you getting ready for Valentines Day?  I love it...and everything it brings.  Bring on the lovey dovey over the top corny.  What better excuse to express your feelings?  I have a fun Pink Persimmon card for you today.  I used the mini bingo card stamping it in pink and coloring in the little flowers.  There was a 14 on the bingo card and I wanted to bring it to attention so I framed it out with a scallop heart, a button, and some velvet leaves.  For my sentiment I used one of the images from Little Red Wagon     and inserted it into an index tab and added a row of buttons with twine.  Other than that I added a good amount of seam bindings and topped it of with a sweet stick pin.   What do you think?  Kinda cute!  Well it is almost 1:00 am....I need some shut eye!  hugs, cherry

Feather love...

Hi there ..Popping in here to share some shabby cards using several of the collections from Riddersholm Designs....you can find them here. I was in an ultra shabby mood as you can see.

I used Christmas Story, farmers Fleamarket, and Huntington Gardens.  I love to mix and match the collections.  They all work so well together.  I also used some of the gorgeous wood embellishments, pearl adhesives, laces, and inkable flowers from the store as well.  I have been having fun lately adding feathers to some of my cards.  Over the top ultra shabby and OH so fun.  It adds an unexpected detail I think.  Well ..hope your weekend was good.  I am off to bed.  Hope you enjoy! cherry

Hi ya'll!   Popping in for a quick few to share a couple of goodies.   I have fallen head over heels in love with Authentique's Valentine line.   I swore to myself I would NOT buy anything new.  NOPE nuttin doin.   I did not need anything new....I have plenty of lovlies.  Somehow or another...this line came home with me. I adore the color combo.   I love black , reds, and creams together...my house is decorated in it for petes sake.
Anywhooos I have had so much fun creating a bit with it.   I am a sucker for the ole images of  children...and if there are puppies or kitties...swooon.   The first is just a sweet card using the line and I added a couple of puffy velvet hearts for fun.  The next is an altered plaque.  I love creating them.  Adding layers like buttons, tickets, hearts, and in this case a little pocket watch.  The little details make me smile!  Hope they do you too.  Have a wonderful Thursday!  Hugs, cherry

xoxo

Hello Wednesday!   And hello floral heart stamp....I love you!   I found my new favorite stamp from here .  Kinda has a sweet folk art feel to it.   I used it to create my focal point, stamping it onto a diecut heart.  I than colored the outer hearts in with a Tim Holtz distress marker for added detail.  I used very little paper....choosing to use the Don't be Wishi Washi    set as my pattern on the bottom.   I than stamped the little mini heart from this  set.   I colored them in just like the floral heart and added some pearl jellie dots
From there I added a bit of ribbons, mini vintage millinery flowers, and buttons.  My last detail was adding my sentiment.  I wanted something to balance out my heart so I grabbed my large xoxo stamp.  Love the cute font.  I think next time I use the heart I will glitter it....so many possibilities.  Well....I am out of here!  I have laundry to fold.  Thanks for letting me share.   hugs, cherry

My dear...

Happy Monday to you all.  You ever get up raring to go and within an hour or two...your raring disappears?   I guess Monday set in.  I was all set to create away today and Poof it was gone.
So I walked away for a bit....but kept coming back to my desk.....placing this here...that there.  NOooo     don't like that....hmmmm that looks nice.   Am I over thinking this?   Sighhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Sometimes you just have to wing it.   At least I do.   I knew I wanted to create something so I kept going.
I think I kinda like the outcome.   I know it did my heart good.

I think I am to hard on myself sometimes and forget to just have fun.  Anyone else like that?

So I just started grabbing things on my desk.  New Authentique,  Basic Grey from Joanns (did you know they had Basic Grey?), buttons, scraps of lace, more buttons, ribbons from my stash and from RRR...you get the picture.   Finally my raring to go came back.   I guess you have to have patience sometimes.   Something I lack severely at times.

Thanks for letting me ramble on today!    I hope you enjoy what Did get done!  hugs, cherry

January blog hoppin with RRR!

Hi there....it is time for hoppin with RRR!  Here is this month's scrumptious ribbons.... I am so smitten by them.  I love, love, LOVE the colors.  Now You should have found your way here from Gloria's  beautiful blog.  Please bare with me..we have had a lot of snow and my lighting is just horrible!  My little creation is a vintagey Valentine.  I used my ribbons to create a "tail" for my layered heart.  I simply cut them all approximately the same lengths and than folded them over and stitched the top to keep them together.   I added they sweet crochet ribbon to the bottom as well.   Hope you enjoy!  Your next stop is Heather's .  Have fun...if you get lost everyone's links are down below.  Remember to comment on the RRR post to win the goodies down below!  Be back soon!  hugs, cherry

Whooooooo loves you???

Why I do ...of course! Blogger...not so much. Anyone else having blogger problems? Why is it that I have to download a different browser just to download pics. NOT fair. Well anyways...I do love these sweet little owls. Hope you do too. I made them using my new favorite ribbon ever. I am a sucker for polka dots. I diecut some fun papers and layered them and added my owls with a few little buttons....including leaf ones I found in my stash. I used sentiments from this set and tied them on with some cotton candy twine . Topped them with buttons and was done. Would be perfect for the kiddos or as a Valentine treat with candy inside for someone's favorite teacher. Hope you enjoy! hugs, cherry

Washi love...

Happy Wednesday to you! I have been having some blogger problems so bare with me. I created a fun, rather funky little card today for The Rubber Cafe. I first stamped the Heart Strings stamp onto my cardstock and than stamped it again onto some pattern scraps I had in pink hues and cut them out. I than inked them up and gave them a bit of chunky glitter and laid them aside. I than stamped the Don't be Wishi Washi set onto some scrap white cardstock in pink and kraft ink and fussy cut them out. I inked them a bit as well. When I was done I had 7 washi tapes cut out. I ran my cardstock through an embossing folder and got to work layering my washi pieces on top of one another randomly, both at the top of my card and the bottom. For added detail I wrapped a bit of twine around some of the washi pieces and hung pink safety pins with diecut little hearts hanging off. I added my sticker sentiment and a chipboard postage frame to add importance to the sweet heart strings stamp (I just love this stamp). From there I used my Scrap Happy glue to adhere my hearts to the banner and added some cute little jellie dots for detail. My last step was to fold back my top and bottom corners of the card and staple them. I love the shabby funky look this has!
